Purpose of the Role: To provide technical expertise in the areas of human rights and rule of law in countries undergoing political transitions and/or facing conflict situations. This role will also involve significant contribution to new business development activities. Key Responsibilities: Technical Expertise and Implementation Support:
closely monitor and analyze developments in the program countries including but not limited to Yemen, Sudan, Iran, and Ukraine; and keep program management staff informed
Provide guidance and technical expertise on projects related to human rights, rule of law, anti-corruption, and justice sector reform.
Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of programs to strengthen local civil society organizations, legal institutions, and communities.
Monitor and evaluate the impact and success of initiatives, ensuring they align with best practices and desired outcomes.
Training and Capacity Building:
Engage with project management staff, and DT Institute partners, civil society organizations, independent media, and communities to improve their capacity related to human rights, rule of law, anti-corruption, and justice sector reform
Design program activities including but not limited to, capacity building trainings, mentorship programs, human rights monitoring and documentation, domestic and international advocacy initiatives, that are sensitive to and effective in complex political and conflict environments.
Facilitate workshops, trainings, and seminars for staff, partners, and stakeholders on human rights, rule of law, and related topics.
New Business Development:
Identify opportunities for new projects or areas of engagement in countries of operation.
Collaborate with other teams and departments in proposal development and writing.
Represent the organization at conferences, seminars, and donor meetings to build networks and partnerships.
Reporting and Communication:
Develop and disseminate regular project reports, updates, and findings to stakeholders, including donors, government officials, and the public.
Maintain clear and transparent communication with all stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation and sustainability.
Qualifications and Experience:
A Master’s degree in Law, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in international development, human rights, rule of law, or related fields, preferably in conflict or post-conflict settings.
Proven experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Strong understanding of the dynamics and challenges of political transitions and conflict contexts.
Experience in proposal development and donor relations.
